ABURI Restaurants Canada will be opening their first premium Japanese Washoku, ABURI Market, on June 1 in West Vancouver. ABURI Market will feature specialty food counters, ready-to-eat seafood, tableware, and exclusive imported goods from Japan. I got to take a sneak peek before the official opening and it really brought me back to the department store food halls of Japan. If the oshi look familiar to you, it’s because this is the same group that has brough Miku and Minami to Vancouver.
The space is sleek, clean and beautiful. The to-go sushi platters, bentos and more are all set up so beautifully. There is so much selection to choose from! It’s very conveniently located, so even if you’re taking the bus from Downtown it’s only about 20 minutes away. It’s definitely worth the trip out to check this space out. Since the store is right by the water, it’ll be a perfect lunch spot. Pick up a few to-go sushi boxes and enjoy the peaceful waves.
I got to try the Hamachi Oshi for the first time and it was fantastic. I think I may have found my next favourite oshi! There is a thin slice of pickle in the rice that goes really well with the torched hamachi and jalapeno.
Aburi Market – Grand Opening Specials
The grand opening for Aburi Market is happening on June 1. On that day the first 25 customers will receive an ABURI Market canvas tote bag! The next 50 customers afterward will receive two vouchers, one for a complimentary onigiri and another for $10 off their first purchase. However, if you don’t make the grand opening, I still think it’s worth checking it out!
They will be open Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
