One of my favourite fruits is the glorious mango. I love it on it’s own but also in desserts, smoothies, juice etc. It is such a versatile and delicious fruit. Some popular Asian mango desserts include: Mango Sago, Mango Pudding, Mango Sticky Rice, and much more. I feel like mango is a very accessible fruit, therefore it’s easy to introduce mango desserts with Asian elements to a new palate who may be unfamiliar with ingredients like sago or evaporated milk. 1. Car’s Dessert – Mango Mochi
Car’s Dessert is a not so secret hidden gem in Richmond. They are known for their famous baked puddings and mochi. They’re extremely popular and sell out very early, so preorders are highly recommended. The mochi is super fresh here and it is definitely Chinese style as it is softer with less of a chew. The fillings are very generous in these and my favourite is definitely their Mango. It features large chunks of fresh and sweet mango.

2. Riceholic – Cheung Chau Style Mango Mochi
I’ve been to Riceholic previously for their delicious rice bowls, but they recently introduced these massive mango mochi to their menu. Cheung Chau Mango Mochi is an enormous slice of mango wrapped in a soft mochi skin with no cream fillers. It is just a beautiful fresh slice of mango surrounded by a pillow soft mochi skin. These are extremely popular and while they have a few in store for walk-in’s, preorders are highly recommended!

3. A Whole Mango – Mango Lover Drink
A Whole Mango is making some big waves among Vancouverites. They have a small but very delicious Mango forward drink menu but the must try is definitely the Mango Lover. It’s their best seller and it contains chucks of mangoes, pomelo, and sago. It is so refreshing and there are so many lovely sweet mango chunks in it. They’re always running promotions on this drink and on my visit at the end of September it was Buy 3 get 1 free! So grab some friends and try this drink out the next time you’re in Richmond.
