There is a brand new OEB Breakfast Co. in the Lower Mainland! This freshly hatched location is at Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley. Their grand opening is March 20, 2023. This Calgary-based brand opened its first BC location in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood in 2019. They have since expanded throughout the Lower Mainland including locations at The Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby and North Vancouver and West Vancouver. I am a huge fan of this all day brunch and breakfast spot so I was very happy to check out their newest OEB Breakfast Co Langley location. Check out my full review of OEB Breakfast Co Langley below!
OEB Breakfast Co Langley – Benny’s, Breakfast Poutines, Blue Plate Specials and more!
For this visit, we got a sampling of dishes that are new to me:
- Korean Bulgogi Benny ($22.00)
- Tuna Crudo Breakfast Poutine ($22.00)
- Gnocchi Breakfast Carbonara ($21.00)
- Laks & Laks of Bagel ($23.00)
The Korean Bulgogi Benny features Korean style shaved inside round beef and pepperonata and it’s served on a butter croissant, with brown butter hollandaise and herb potatoes fried in beef tallow. The eggs were a perfect medium poach as requested. The bulgogi was flavourful and the overall dish was very rich and filling! If you want a fusion dish this is a good choice.
The Tuna Crudo Breakfast Poutine features sesame soy Ahi tuna, Hass avocado, pommes gaufrettes fried in beef tallow and cilantro crema.
The tuna was very fresh and in large chunks and the avocado chunks were so incredibly creamy. The brilliant orange egg yolk was the perfect sauce. This was one of my favourite dishes, and the pommes gaufrettes (aka waffle fries) were spot on.
The Gnocchi Breakfast Carbonara features gluten-free gnocchi, double smoked bacon, brown butter hollandaise, grana padano, raw yolk and petite watercress. This was incredible. I normally don’t order gnocchi because I find it to be quite gummy at most places, but the gnocchi here was so light and fluffy and the brown butter hollandaise was divine. If there’s one dish you get at OEB Breakfast Co. it has to be this one.
Our final savoury dish was the Laks & Laks of Bagel which features and-crafted cold-smoked salmon, cream cheese, pickled onions, shaved fennel, fried capers and EVOO. A straightforward albeit delicious dish. It’s a classic and perfectly done here.
OEB Breakfast Co Langley – Sweets
To finish of our decadent brunch we had to get something sweet, so we went with the French Toast Trifle ($20.00) which features brioche, lemon curd, fresh berries, pistachios and torched pavlovas. I always see this dish associated with OEB Breakfast Co. so I finally ordered it. The french toast was thick cut but not heavy. It was a little heavy handed on the lemon curd (read doused in), but if you love lemon curd this dish will be for you!
Worth a Try?
Yes! This is one my go to brunch spots because the execution and service is always spot on. Even though I went before the official opening date and the staff were still in training, everyone was very friendly and helpful! This is a great addition to Langley, and I anticipate that it will be quite busy once it officially opens on March 20, 2023! Weekday reservations can be made by calling 778-277-3447 between the hours of 7am – 3pm. On weekends, you can place your name on their online waitlist through Yelp and the restaurant will contact you when your table is ready.
