My family used to frequent the Copa Cafe on Cambie Street, but we haven’t been back in a long time. Last weekend when we were in Richmond we decided to drop by their Richmond location for some nostalgic eats.
What I ate: Baked Ox Tongue on Rice with Tomato Sauce ($9.95) from their Mini Set Menu + Hot Milk Tea
This was okay. I know it is a “mini” set but they were pretty stingy on the ox tongue. Most places would serve a nice big slab on top, but they cut it up and mixed in a very generous amount of canned mushrooms, which made it seem more like a Baked Mushroom on Rice.
What I ate: Deep fried pork chop with Pan Seared Chicken with Garlic Sauce
My mom had this and she said it was very mediocre. The vegetables were atrocious (major freezer burn), and the sauce just had too much of a raw garlic taste.
Would I come back? No. Perhaps it’s specific to this location, but I feel that the quality has significantly decreased since the last time we came. There are so many other better restaurants in Vancouver!
