Haven’t seen S in ages and we were both craving Laksa so she suggested we go to Laksa King on Hastings.
What I ate: Laksa with yellow noodle served with prawn, fish ball, tofu puff, hard boiled egg, chicken and house made coconut curry broth ($9.50)
This was too mild for my liking. Maybe this is the style that I’m not used to, but overall I found this dish to be lacking in flavour and depth. The toppings were also pretty stingy.
The ventilation in this restaurant is awful! There’s an extremely lingering odor of old oil. As much as I like to support mom and pop establishments, I probably won’t be visiting here again. The lackluster laksa and smell makes this a pass for me.
