I am someone who goes through food phases. I will be obsessed with a dish for a month or two and I will look for it everywhere. One of these obsessions was Laksa. A good friend of mine from Malaysia raved about the Laksa here so of course I had to check it out!
What I ate: Laksa – Wheat noodle served in mild curry, rich in coconut milk and dried shrimp, garnished with tofu puff, fish cake, egg, shredded chicken, prawns and sprouts ($7.15)
This bowl was massive! I had a hard time finishing this. They were very generous with the garnishes and there was copious amounts of shredded chicken in this. I really liked how creamy it was and if it was just a tad bit spicier this would have been perfect.
This restaurant is a straight up hole in the wall. There are no frills here, and you’ll probably end up sharing a table with someone. The ventilation is awful in here, so don’t come wearing your nice clothes!
Unfortunately for me this restaurant is a bit too far out of my way to come to frequently. However if I was in the area I’d definitely come by again for a hot bowl of Laksa!
