Snow Angel Cafe is a newly opened Korean dessert cafe in Burnaby. They specialize in Bingsoo, but they also offer a limited savoury menu of sandwiches and croissants as well as tiramisu and beverages.
The interior is beautifully decorated with plants and lights and this cafe wouldn’t be out of place on the streets of Seoul.
With the summer heat in full swing in Vancouver, I decided to order two of the drinks recommended by the barista.
The Mango Mojito was bright and refreshing but veered onto the syrupy sweet side. The Blue Lemonade was refreshing with a slight fizz, and I would get this one again.
Snow Angel has some show stopping beautiful bingsoo. Every creation is crafted with care and flair. When I first saw this bingsoo on Instagram, I knew I had to get it. The bingsoo is covered with beautifully fluffy pink cloud of cotton candy and then gold flakes and edible flowers are delicately placed around for decoration.
Underneath the cotton candy is a variety of delicious sweets – with my favourites being the strawberry sorbet and cheesecake.
It is quite a large serving and can serve 3-4 people.
If you’re not a fan of bingsoo, they also have several flavours of tiramisu. I decided to go with the strawberry tiramisu and it wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciated. The cream was light and fluffy and the strawberries were sweet.
The cafe wasn’t too busy when I visited, but they’re still new in a relatively new neighbourhood. I would recommend you try one of their artistic bingsoos, as I have yet to see any bingsoo as beautiful in Vancouver.
