Hem 377/Hi is the brand new second location of the original Hem 377 on Victoria Drive. This spot features a beautiful bright blue exterior and the interior mimics the street stalls of Vietnam. ‘Hem’ means alley in Vietnamese, while 377 refers to an alley in Ho Chi Minh City where the owner grew up. I’m so happy that they now have a second location that is so much closer for me. I came by this weekend to check out some of their delicious offerings. Hem 377/Hi has everything you know and love from the OG spot. On our visit we got:
- Egg Coffee (Cà phê trứng)
- Pandan Drip (Cà phê lá dứa)
- Shredded Chicken Banh Mi Bowl
- Vanilla Flan, Pandan Flan and Coconut Flan
The Egg Coffee (Cà phê trứng) is their house special Vietnamese drip coffee with creamy egg cream on top and cocoa powder. It was so rich and thick and it was like a dessert in a cup. The coffee was so smooth and I love the egg cream on top. I’m so glad to have found another spot that makes such a great version of Egg Coffee as it’s not the most common to find in Vancouver.
The Pandan Drip (Cà phê lá dứa) features Vietnamese coffee with pandan milk. The pandan milk has a really nice herbaceous flavour that pairs well with the nuttiness of the Vietnamese coffee.
The Shredded Chicken Banh Mi Bowl features cut up banh mi with house made pork pate, garlic hot sauce and topped with stir fried shredded chicken with a housemade sauce. The bread was soft with a crisp exterior and I adore the garlic hot sauce. It was quite spicy and pairs well with the chicken and bread.

The drinks and snacks here are really delicious and the service was very friendly. This is a great spot to grab a cold drink while shopping on Commercial Drive, or just to hang out with friends.
